Looking for hotels in south west France is now easier than ever thanks to this page and our website. Yes, you can search the internet and find all the famous booking websites and also the not so famous but we live in south west France and I have stayed at hotels in Bordeaux, Angouleme, Biarritz, Saintes, La Rochelle, Barbezieux oh the list goes on. Here I pass to you my knowledge and I provide some links to hotels which if you use then our association will benefit.
When looking at hotels remember the star rating in France seems to be of a better standard than other parts of Europe. I can honestly say that some two-star hotel are far better and deserve at least a three star. Having said that I have stayed in some two-star hotels who believe me should not have any stars.
To book and reserve your hotel on-line will require a banker’s card or credit card in order to reserve the hotel Most hotels and booking websites do not charge your card until you arrive at the front desk but if you failed to arrive then they may well then charge your card for the reservation so be sure this is the hotel you want.
When reserving make sure as to what times you can arrive to take the room earliest and the latest you might have all good intentions of arriving at a time when front desk is open but accidents, traffic, breakdown all can happen and you arrive to find you need a night pass code to enter, wow so annoying I have been there.
Checking in decide how you will pay using your card or maybe cash also if you need breakfast or evening meals make sure you reserve at checking in time. Not all hotels provide evening meals but for sure they can recommend to you a restaurant so ask now before the staff leave. Remember to get and ask for the night door entrance code for the door and the parking.
Breakfast times remember to ask what are the times for that breakfast you have booked and paid for. If you have any dietry questions again make sure to ask what is the breakfast some are continental breakfast just cafe, orange juice and some patisseries others offer buffet breakfast which may provide eggs bacon and a lot more so worth checking before you get up to a breakfast you can eat. Breakfast in bed is normally reserved for 3-star hotels and above.
Chek out times could be different for each hotel so be sure to ask but a general rule is 10. – 11.00 to vacate the room so it can be prepared for the next guests.
