Work, fun and ice cream. Living the life as a volunteer in South-West France!

Wednesday comes along with a lot of sunshine, so it feels good to be outside working in the Charante region.

Derrick is keeping LG pretty by cutting the grass with his weed whacker (an American term for string trimmer); Paul, Marilou and Elizabeth are hard at work on the new bathroom, and Emilie’s garden is looking great! Meanwhile, Jim is working on a project he had last year, opening a path for LG’s access to me meadow. It looks like a lot of work, but we’re excited about it!

Up in the computer room, Denise is working hard on the website –updates soon to come!-  and Marisela is making sure every email is answered and that everyone gets their picture on the blog. Soon it’s lunch time and Gayle, that is working as mum, has prepared a gorgeous vegetable soup

During the evening, part of the team enjoys the sunny day down at the lake, while others visit a near by Cognac and Pineau farm where 5 generations work on producing the local beverage. Did you know that Pineau is an aperitif that is only produced in Chatente?

Once everyone got back it was dinner time, and Emilie had prepared delicious stirred fried noodles for everyone. Later, to finish the evening we went to have some tea and dessert at the clubhouse near by.

Bonne Nuit, everyone!
