Volunteer at La Giraudiere Brossac SW France
Are you the sort of traveller who likes to mix it up a bit – some sightseeing, learning a language, a few days volunteering on a project where you can add some real value? Then as a Volunteer at La Giraudiere Brossac SW France you will enjoy all of the above and best of all you only have to unpack once and then you can go off travelling for a couple of days and just take a small backpack with you. This is a holiday with a lot of bang for your buck. It won’t cost you a lot of money and you will have the company of a group of like minded individuals for meals, group outings, French lessons and of course opportunities to do your own thing if that is what you want to do.
Tuesdays to Thursdays are a hive of activity at La Giraudiere as all the volunteers can be seen doing a variety of jobs suited to their skills and taste. Bruce arrived recently from several years working in the UK and is exploring the world as he plans his homeward journey to China. There doesn’t seem to be much Bruce can’t turn his hand to from shovelling dirt to plant roses, drilling concrete to put new posts in place and cooking up a batch of dumplings for one of our recent shared meals. He speaks French and English as well as his native language and has fitted in as a Volunteer at La Giraudiere Brossac SW France like duck to water.
Carmel from Queensland, Australia, has been appointed Housekeeper Extraordinaire. This is an important role at La Giaudiere which involves oversight of room preparation for new arrivals, making sure there is clean linen and towels daily and general cleanliness of the gites overall. Carmel is a creative and experienced cook and her meals are enjoyed by all. Last evening, her gravy caused raptures and she has promised she will make it again. The little things that make people happy!
Volunteer at La Giraudiere and enjoy a holiday which provides a wide variety of experiences. Volunteers participate in community events and offer their support in a variety of ways. Also a good opportunity to mix with the locals and practice French.
