The Volunteers Help with the Trail du Brossacais
On Sunday 24th June, La Giraudière’s town of Brossac will be holding its Trail du Brossacais. Over the past few months, the different villages of the Charente have been holding their own type of marathon, whereby people in the local area take part in a race: either of 8km, 15km or 27km. The best runners of each circuit win a prize. The aim is to promote the nature of the villages, the importance of fitness, and of course, the heritage and culture of the Charente.
Although not taking part in the race, the volunteers at La Giraudière have been helping with the clean up and preparation of the project. Today, some of the volunteers went to the Brossac stadium (stade) where the showers for the runners are situated. The morning’s work involved cleaning the toilets and the showers – not the most glamorous task the volunteers have completed. Nevertheless, the team of helpers did a brilliant job, doing their bit for the Brossac community.
