Need a change of scenery – like rural France? How about a holiday where you can make a difference? Or take some time out from your routine to meet new people and form friendships with individuals from around the world? Would you like to learn or improve your French, or English? Learn some new skills or maybe pass on those you have? All of this is possible when you come and volunteer in France at La Giraudière.
We need your help in France! This once Master’s House is being transformed, maintained, restored and renovated to be an auberge, or hamlet – not just a place of learning with a uniqueness and cultural exchange. It is a place where people from all walks of life can experience and learn about France, improve their French or English, and immerse themselves in the rural French way of life. We have already accommodated around 900 volunteers and interns from around the globe. University, academy and school groups have also made use of the program at La Giraudière.

Come and spend some time in France without breaking the bank. In exchange for your 18 hours of volunteering per week you will get to experience France like never before. You will get accommodation, 3 meals a day, weekly group language lessons, weekly excursions and so much more, all from just €18 per day.

La Giraudière is open to all. People of all different backgrounds, ages and nationalities are invited to apply. You will have the opportunity to live together, learn about each other’s lifestyles and exchange your knowledge, experience and skills whilst helping with this project in France.
Volunteer in France and Experience a cultural exchange
The project has been described as “a cultural exchange like no other.” The only criteria are that volunteers should possess is a willingness to help and get involved. So, from students to retired people, skilled or unskilled, all are needed. You can come and bring new life to our project, contribute your experience and help others!
Volunteers are needed to help out with all types of work but for 2024 the work will center around the property / garden maintenance and the creation of four additional bedrooms. So painting, plastering, dry lining, hanging doors, replacing windows will be amoung the tasks for 2024. Also required are persons to help with the day-to-day running of the household and office work. Maybe you prefer article writing, social media or are you a blogger at heart? Remember there is our park and garden needing constant attention.

The dates for 2025 Summer program are presently
26th June 2025 until 30th September 2025
The recommended volunteering period is 3 weeks but you can apply for any length of stay during the 2025 program dates.
